Water + Salt + Electricity

ECA (Electro-Chemical Activation) is a patented technology that submerges positive and negative electrodes in a solute containing positive and negative ions from the mixture of salt and water. This process results in the production of an alkaline surfactant and a potent disinfectant.

The ECA electrolysis process utilizes electrolytic cells where the anode (positive electrode) is separated from the cathode chamber (negative electrode), to allow ion separation and to prevent the production of gaseous chlorine.

Positive ions are attracted to the negative anode, where they receive electrons, thus resulting in neutral atoms or molecules. Negative ions are attracted to the positive electrode, and excess electrons flow through the solvent, where the electric current generates oxygenated water through oxidation-reduction reactions.

The result of this process are two Electrolyzed Water solutions: A neutral disinfectant/sanitizer (Anolyte) and a surfactant (Catholyte).

Based on current research it appears that microorganisms are presently not able to build up resistance to Anolyte as they are able to do with other sanitizers and disinfectants. Anolyte destroys microorganisms so they cannot build up resistance and no adaptation occurs. Standard toxic chemicals can create strains of pathogens that become resistant over time, because the cell can expel or neutralize the chemical before it can kill it.

Electro Chemical Activation



ECA (Electro-Chemical Activation) is a scientific process that mimics the body’s own natural process to fight off bacteria and viruses. When the body comes under attack, its immune system responds by releasing white blood cells and sending them to the invasion site. These cells produce a mixed oxidant solution (Anolyte) that is highly effective in eliminating microbes and pathogens.

White blood cells are an important part of the immune system that are involved in protecting the body against both infectious disease and foreign invaders such as bacteria and viruses.

Mechanism of Action

The free ions in Anolyte rapidly react and denature proteins. Anolyte should not be used on protein based products, since it will react and destroy proteins. Once Anolyte comes into contact with a microorganism, it attacks the bacterial proteins located in the cell membranes.

Anolyte’s superior germicidal action is due to this direct killing mechanism. Anolyte will eradicate antibiotic resistant bacterial strains including MRSA and VRE similarly. Anolyte will also induce rupture of the cell membrane leading to cell lysis. This is due to an osmolarity difference or the concentration of ion in the solution versus in the cytoplasm. Anolyte initially damages the bacterial cell walls, allowing water to infiltrate the pathogenic cell. The microbe will reach an osmotic overload, where Anolyte solution and water floods the cell more rapidly than can be expelled. This causes the cell to burst, leaving the pathogen ineffective.
